Santiago de Chile - One of the 41 Places to go in 2011

According to The New York Times, Chile is one of the 41 places to go in 2011. I don't know if it is named in first place because of a particular reason or just at random.

Anyways, this is a great place to take a great vacation :)

Tomorrow is our Independence Day. I took the day off, so I'm very happy at home :D

And I won't return to work until Monday!!! Yay!!!

We Chileans celebrate this holiday cooking and eating a lot. We've got a kind of a barbecue (asado) and individual meat pies (empanadas).

Have a great day!

Arica and Parinacota Outdoors

This event is kindly hosted by Susan at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/

Well, since I live in an apartment, my outdoors for this week take place at a wonderful travel I made to North of Chile last December. Please notice the beautiful desert landscapes and the crystal clear sky. Have a great Wednesday!

Lluta Valley
(It is in the middle of the dryest desert in the world Amazing!)

Lauca National Park
(you can see 2 famous volcanos in the back called "Los Payachatas": Parinacota and Pompaire)

A very friendly llama.
(She loved eating cookies from tourists hands and truly behaved like a dog, he, he)
